The UT Food Science Club fosters students’ academic, professional, and personal development. The club gives its members the means to connect and develop relationships with students and faculty outside of class. Members learn professional skills and gain access to internship and career opportunities. Students are given opportunities to grow their leadership abilities and professional development skills within the department, the University, and the global food science community. Each year, the club competes in the Institute of Food Technologists Student Association (IFTSA) College Bowl competition and is an active participant in the IFTSA and IFT Volunteer Section. Club meetings include presentations from guest lecturers, faculty, food industry, and professional development centers. All members are able to enjoy meals and building their network at meetings. Dues are $25 for the entire year or $15 for one semester. Food at meetings and a club T-shirt are included in the membership dues. The club accepts payments via cash, check, or Venmo.
