Photo Description: Adrienne Roach (Ph.D. candidate) won first place in the Manfred Kroger Graduate Paper Competition at the 2008 Institute of Food Technologists Annual meeting in New Orleans. Adrienne’s award, sponsored by the Dairy Foods Division of IFT, was for her presentation entitled “The Casein Micelle as a Polymeric Nano-Carrier for Hydrophobic Compounds: Food and Pharmaceutical Applications.” It was co-authored by her advisor, Dr. Federico Harte, and Dr. Fernanda San Martin of Purdue University.
Adrienne’s abstract was selected from 60 entries and she received $700.
